Plot Twist!

Greeting everyone.

Well, first I want to apologize to everyone who has commented, starred, followed or generally just come to my site from time to time to indulge in my ramblings about movie I like.  There is a particularly reason for my lack of feedback as well as interaction.  Back in April, or right at the end of March really, I was let go from my job at an Online Advertising Agency.  It sucked, I mean really sucked.  Namely cause I really like working there, more so for the people I call friends and co-workers rather than the work itself.  During my time in the unemployment world, I knew that this would be an opportunity for me to write a lot more so I could pass the time between resume sending and interviewing.  So between the months and April and May, I was in a constant bind of having to look for a job in a tough market and keep sane as well.  I knew, through some sort of ridiculous foresight, that all these little dominoes would fall into place eventually….soon..ish.

So to my luck, I found a new job working in the same field, but different industry.  I am currently two weeks into that new job and starting on week three.  It feels good to be working again.  I also had to buy a new car, well new used car.  My dependable VW Passat is no longer dependable, meaning I have to go buy a new car.  On top of that, I am now in the process of moving, which took up a considerable amount of my time from searching, calling, visiting, and applying for houses.  It sucks, but my determination led me to a new house, one with a fenced backyard for Dexter the Beagle and close to work and downtown.  I love it and I haven’t even moved in.  So my move is happening in less than a week.

All these little elements that have piled up these past 4 weeks have led me to neglect my duty to interact with the commenting public and also to share the same adoration for their work on each respective site as they do on mine.  I have been on autopilot with my Movie of the Day posts, save for the few reactionary ones and the small amount of movie reviews.  Money and time has been tight, but I hope to be a bit more stable in the coming weeks and back to my old ways.  That wonderful foresight I had early in April when I wasn’t working allowed me to stockpile posts and use them when I can’t find the time to write, which has been a bit often.  Smart is all I have to say.

Well, what does this mean?  I guess I just wanted to post this so people are not assuming that I am being a jerk off and ignoring people.  I don’t mean to do that, just that my time is short and need to accomplish a lot of things.  So for the next two weeks, I will be on autopilot still, with the occasional reply back and comment here and review there.  I promise to be a bit more active once the move is over and I am getting that steady paycheck in.

For now, thank you everyone for stopping by and reading my posts.  I am catching up on the RSS feed of reviews and posts you have all done and promise to keep snark to a minimum :) .  Thanks everyone for following.  Take Care.

*Also I am planning on developing a new project blog/food thing/personal stuff site.  Not sure what it will be but I will be sure to let those who are interested know.

Movie of the Day – Glengarry Glen Ross

Today is a day for celebration.  For the past 6 weeks, I was unemployed, let go by my previous employer due to right sizing and was cast out into the world of the struggling job market.  While my woes of 6 weeks being unemployed is miniscule compared to that of others out there, it wasn’t fun to say the least.   But today, I am back in the workforce, back doing the work I enjoy doing.  I was motivated by a higher power, one that was there for me when times got tough and something that I can turn to in my greatest need.  The film Glengarry Glen Ross was the guiding light in the midst of the all resumes submitting and interviews, it was there to give me motivation.  That and my group of friends and family were there to support me, which I will thank them later.  For now, this being a movie blog, is where I can show some appreciation.
