Surprise surprise, another Adam Sandler movie on my list. After being brain fucked by Jack and Jill (don’t bother watching) I decided to watch this movie cause I have never seen it and all I have heard about this movie is terrible. So I needed to see for myself what a movie where Sandler plays some demon kid or whatever. I don’t care. I would rather be offered up in a satanic ritual instead of watching this again.

Well today is the day. It’s the start of the November to Remember and as you can tell, I started off with a softball of a movie, Jack & Jill. I am already regretting this movie choice because I couldn’t even stand sitting through the trailer and it’s only like 2 minutes long. Well, we all know Adam Sandler is basically just fucking with us at this point with his movies and the fact that this movie exists, is evidence of this lowest denominator of audience pandering. I mean did anyone really full on laugh at this trailer and thought, “oh this looks fucking side splitting hilarious”. God, the fact that this made money is just infuriating and I haven’t even begun to talk about the movie. So here we go.

Let’s be clear, no movie will ever come close to This Is Spinal Tap in terms of spoofing and using satire against heavy metal music. It is just the ultimate movie in lampooning the culture, so lets just out that to rest. Airheads tried to say something clever about the music genre, but it didn’t come through, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t entertaining and funny with some cast of soon to be famous unknowns in the film world. I have a fondness for Airheads and the deadpan humor that stems from this rock n roll comedic movie and it also features one of Sandlers non-abrasive roles. It’s win win!

As May is starting wind up and the heavy hitter films of Battleship, Men in Black 3 and some other non-eessential viewing opening blockbusters, what you should get excited for is the upcoming month of June and the assortment of films that hit about every demographic possible. We are looking at films aimed at tweens, goth kids, ninja fans, apocalyptic genre fans, even fans of male stripping. As usual, there is a whole slew of films that I wish I could see but will have to keep the list of films to those that I definitely will make an effort to see and those that I will steer clear of because I don’t hate myself. I will say that I will gladly see the films I don’t want to shell out money for if I can get some press passes so I can rip on them for the hell of it. It’s a tough hobby/job but I do it for you, my readers. So start saving your allowance and break open the piggy bank, June is going to be a hell of a month.
Also I do realize that there are a lot of other films that are out on VOD or limited release, so I tried to catch the June releases that were interesting and major, along with ones that are just horrific.

So in just a mere few hours, my friends Peter Burger and Amanda Francis will by tying the knot on Guy Fawkes Day. So while I tinkered with the idea of doing a movie of the day on V for Vendetta, I figured a wedding themed post will suffice. There in lies the problem I have. I don’t like wedding movies. Sure Muriel’s Wedding, Four Weddings and a Funeral (not really appropriate) The Proposal and a handful of other Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez centric movies would have been fine, I haven’t seen any of them. So there are only two wedding movies that I enjoy, one would be Wedding Crashers which didn’t really fit since it’s about to adolescent men crashing parties and banging the bridesmaids or something. The other is The Wedding Singer, which is one of the few Adam Sandler movies I can stand. So in honor of Peter and Amanda getting married, this post is for them. Congrats!
